VinSense Wins OCAST Industry Innovation Program Award!

VinSense Wins OCAST Industry Innovation Program Award!

We’re thrilled to share that VinSense has been awarded funding through the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST) Industry Innovation Program! This award will scale our technology forages, tree nuts, and row crop systems across Oklahoma.

Our project titled “Scaling Science-Driven, Actionable Information to Optimize Oklahoma Agriculture,” focuses on expanding our advanced soil, crop, and environmental mapping technologies to support Oklahoma’s diverse agricultural community.

VinSense provides a comprehensive suite of tools and services designed to empower growers with actionable insights. Our offerings include functional soil maps that highlight zones of soil and crop variability, along with optimized sampling locations for in-field sensor installation, soil and plant analysis, and soil health and carbon monitoring. We deliver high- spatial resolution maps of the physical, chemical, and biological properties of soil, complemented by detailed reports on soil carbon stocks, soil health, and plant nutrient levels. Growers can also benefit from tailored recommendations for variable-rate applications of fertilizers, lime, and pesticides. At the heart of our platform is VINES, our customer-based dashboard, which allows growers to monitor their real-time conditions and enables smarter decision-making concerning their soil moisture, crop, and climate conditions.

Currently, our variable-rate nutrient recommendations and growth stage monitoring tools are tailored specifically for winegrapes. However, all other offerings are versatile and applicable across various crop systems. With our OCAST-funded project, we are now poised to extend these solutions to key Oklahoma crops like pecans, wheat, corn, and soybeans, which together cover 21% of the state’s land area and represent a $1.8 billion annual value. Additionally, through this project, we’re improving VINES to include advanced analytics, self-service tools, and online web sales. This project will allow us to support growers across the Central Plains and beyond as they optimize their operations and will establish us as a leader in data-driven, regenerative agricultural management.

    Thank You, OCAST!

We couldn’t be more grateful for OCAST’s support in helping us scale our technology and bring it to Oklahoma. With this award, we’re positioned to make a real impact on the state’s agricultural industry, ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for growers across the region.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this exciting journey!
